A great small science kit with an explosive foamy result! Inventor Steve Spangler's deceptively simple 'Geyser Tube' just needs soft drink and Mentos mint lollies to create an amazing tall gush of foamy liquid.
A nice 'extra' gift to tuck in with a larger present. Or a fun activity to have tucked away for when the kids complain of being 'bored'!.
An easy and spectacular chemistry lesson. The foam is created as the tiny pits or craters called 'nucleation sites', that cover each Mentos lolly, react with the carbon dioxide bubbles already in the soft drink.
Well worth doing this experiment outside as the Geyser does gush to an amazing height. Use diet or sugar free soft drink to avoid a sticky mess. Kids will stay quite dry if the Geyser Tube is used properly

For ages: 8+, though with some hands-on adult supervision 5-6 years olds will get a lot out of this kit.
Also required: soft drink eg 1.25L bottle of diet lemonade or cola, plus a roll/packet of Mentos mint lollies. 7-10 individal Mentos create best results. Both available from most supermarkets, corner stores, newsagencies etc.
